Custody For Fathers Determined By The Best Interests Of The Child

There is an enormous misconception of people going through a divorce that custody of minors will automatically fall to the mother. While this may traditionally have been the case, the changes in our social structures and family environments have made custody for fathers just as possible as maternal custody.

The courts decide on which parent gets custody according to what is in the best interests of the child in our current legal system. For example, if a mother is a career woman and dad spends most of his time at home with the kids, it is more likely that custody for fathers will be granted by the family court in South Africa.
